Praxis has reported that its developer wallet was compromised, confirming an unauthorized transaction immediately after a scheduled token unlock on July 28. The direct statement replaces the earlier reliance on a third-party mirror, establishing that the security alert originated from the project’s verified X account.

In an initial notice, the project said it was tracing the activity and investigating the incident. Praxis did not provide a technical explanation of how access to the wallet was obtained, leaving the attack vector, timing of the original compromise and identity of the operator undetermined.

Unauthorized Transaction Followed Token Unlock

Praxis later said the developer wallet had been drained before the scheduled unlock and that the malicious transaction took the newly available funds within approximately one second of the 5:00 UTC unlock time. The project’s account suggests the wallet was already under unauthorized control when the tokens became transferable, rather than being compromised during the unlock itself.

The team also stated that it no longer had access to the developer tokens or creator fees associated with the affected wallet. Praxis referred observers to the malicious transaction as on-chain evidence of the incident.
