Curve Week 42 Yields Reach 9.1% as Lending TVL Falls

Curve Finance’s latest weekly operational snapshot shows selected stablecoin liquidity pools maintaining modeled APRs above 8% even as borrowing and collateral declined across Llamalend. USDC/USG leads the selected USD pools with a 9.1% modeled APR, followed by frxUSD/USG at 8.8% and reUSD/sfrxUSD at 8.3%.

According to Curve’s official Week 42 yield and metrics report, published October 15, the estimates model a new $100,000 deposit using seven-day LP growth and current unboosted rewards while assuming income remains unchanged. The rates are variable snapshots rather than guaranteed returns, and Curve explicitly describes them as selected candidates rather than a global yield or risk ranking.

Independent data provides broader context around the protocol. DeFiLlama’s Curve Finance dataset places TVL at approximately $1.31 billion on October 16, down from about $1.40 billion at the end of September. Protocol-wide TVL and individual pool APR measure different aspects of activity, so a high modeled yield in one market does not imply that liquidity is increasing across Curve as a whole.

Stablecoin Yields Shift as Llamalend Contracts

Curve’s weekly yield leadership remains fluid. A previous Week 38 snapshot reached 15.1% modeled APR, while the current leading rate is substantially lower at 9.1%. The movement reflects changing trading fees, liquidity conditions and CRV incentives rather than a fixed return generated by the protocol.

Llamalend showed a different trend during Week 42. TVL fell 7.7% from the previous week to $249 million, collateral declined 9.7% to $223 million and borrowed assets fell 5.9% to $142 million. Supplied assets, however, increased 2.2% to $99 million, while the number of loans rose by 12 to 1,220. The lending data therefore shows contraction in aggregate balances without a uniform decline across every activity metric.

Selected Llamalend markets currently offer 4.2% APR for supplying crvUSD against syrupUSDC or sfrxUSD collateral. Those yields can combine borrower interest with CRV incentives, while withdrawal liquidity varies with utilization. Curve’s LLAMMA liquidation model can also keep stressed loans active for extended periods, meaning headline APR does not capture collateral, utilization or liquidation-path risk.

CRV Emissions Remain Stable as Lending Expands

Weekly gauge allocations remained unchanged at 1.86 million CRV, valued by Curve at approximately $643,500 in the Week 42 snapshot. veCRV distributions totaled $102,500, while the reported veCRV APR increased slightly to 2.003%. The 1.86 million CRV figure represents scheduled gauge allocations rather than tokens already claimed by liquidity providers.

Governance also produced a new lending configuration during the week. Vote 1501 was executed, activating the first Llamalend v2 market that accepts an LP token as collateral, using the reUSD/sfrxUSD position with an initial 3 million crvUSD borrowing cap. LP holders can now borrow against the position without first unwinding the underlying liquidity, creating another layer of capital reuse inside Curve.

The latest update consequently shows a mixed operating picture rather than a simple increase in yields or liquidity. Selected stablecoin pools continue to offer elevated modeled returns while Llamalend TVL, collateral and borrowing have declined week over week, and protocol-wide Curve TVL has also moved lower since September. The weekly reports are therefore most useful as snapshots of changing incentive and liquidity conditions, not as evidence that current APRs will persist.
