Cookies
Last updated:
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. This page lists what ChainReport stores on your device and how you can control it.
In short
ChainReport does not use cookies for audience measurement or advertising. Our statistics come from Plausible Analytics, which works without cookies (see Privacy). The only items we store are the ones the site needs to work and to remember your choices.
What we store
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
moove_gdpr_popup | ChainReport | Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner. | 1 year |
tp_dark_mode (local storage) | ChainReport | Remembers whether you switched to dark mode. | Until you clear it |
__cf_bm, cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Distinguish people from bots and protect the site and our contact form from attacks. | Up to 30 minutes / 1 year |
wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | ChainReport | Keep our editors signed in. Only set for staff who log in. | Session to 1 year |
These items are strictly necessary or store a preference you chose, so they do not require consent. Some may not appear on your device; Cloudflare, for example, only sets its cookies when its security checks are triggered.
Embedded content
Some articles may include content from other websites, such as posts from X or videos from YouTube. When you view that content, those websites may set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.
Advertising
We do not currently use advertising cookies. If we introduce advertising that uses cookies or similar technologies, we will list them here and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
Your choices
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the help section of your browser explains how. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as the contact form, from working.
