This page explains what personal data ChainReport collects when you use chainreport.co, why we collect it, and the choices and rights you have. We collect as little as we can: you can read the whole site without giving us any personal details.

Who is responsible for your data

ChainReport, the publisher of chainreport.co, based in Andorra, is responsible for the personal data described on this page. For any privacy question or request, email [email protected].

What we collect and why

When you read the site

  • Audience statistics. We measure how many people visit and which pages they read with Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused tool that we run on our own infrastructure. It does not use cookies, does not build profiles and does not store your IP address; we only see aggregated figures such as page views, referring sites, country and device type. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding which coverage is useful to readers.
  • Security and delivery. The site is delivered and protected by Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as your IP address, browser details and the pages requested to stop attacks and abuse and to deliver pages quickly. Our web server keeps similar technical logs for a short period for security and troubleshooting. This is necessary to run a safe website.
  • Your settings. Your cookie choice and display preferences (such as dark mode) are stored on your own device. See Cookies.

When you contact us

If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply and to handle your request, for example a correction or an advertising enquiry. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the message is not sent by a bot. We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with them and for up to two years afterwards, unless we need them longer to handle a legal claim.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not currently share it for targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising. Before we introduce a newsletter, personalised advertising or any other feature that collects new personal data, we will update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Who we share data with

We share personal data only with providers that help us run the site, under agreements that require them to protect it and use it only on our instructions: our hosting provider, Cloudflare (content delivery, security and Turnstile) and our email provider. We may also disclose data when the law requires it or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

International transfers

Some providers, such as Cloudflare, may process data outside Andorra and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards recognised by data protection law, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including Andorra, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and US states such as California, you may have the right to:

  • know what personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
  • correct it or ask us to delete it;
  • object to or restrict how we use it, or withdraw consent you have given;
  • receive it in a portable format;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither).

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within the time limits set by law and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your data protection authority; in Andorra, that is the Agència Andorrana de Protecció de Dades.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and up-to-date software. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep the data we hold to a minimum and to protect it.

Changes to this page

When we change how we handle personal data, we update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
