Solana accounted for the largest share of blockchain spot DEX trading during the week ending October 25, processing approximately $14.2 billion as decentralized trading contracted across the market. According to CryptoRank’s October 28 analysis, Solana captured 38% of the $37.2 billion in weekly spot DEX volume tracked across major chains, up from roughly 26% market share in early September. The gain came despite lower aggregate decentralized trading rather than through a market-wide expansion.
Across the same eight-week comparison, total weekly spot DEX volume fell 36.5% from $58.6 billion on August 31. Robinhood Chain recorded the sharpest contraction among major competitors, falling 80% from $17.1 billion to $3.4 billion and reducing its share from 29% to 9%. Solana’s higher market share therefore reflects both substantial retained trading activity and a much steeper decline on competing networks.
Solana DEX Rankings Shift Within a Smaller Market
Trading inside Solana is also rotating between venues. DefiLlama’s October 29 snapshot showed BisonFi generating approximately $1.54 billion over seven days, slightly ahead of Pump at $1.45 billion and Orca at $1.36 billion. BisonFi’s lead is specific to the short seven-day window, because Pump remained larger over 30 days with roughly $9.17 billion compared with BisonFi’s $7.86 billion.
That distinction matters when assessing whether market leadership is durable. Protocol rankings can change rapidly as trading incentives, new assets and automated strategies redirect order flow. Solana has previously shown the same concentration in derivatives, when weekly perpetual volume exceeded $20 billion while most reported activity came from a limited group of venues. High aggregate turnover does not establish equally distributed liquidity, unique-user growth or persistent market depth.
Network transaction counts require similar caution. Solana reached a record 216 million non-vote transactions in one August day and 1.32 billion during the August 17-23 week. Those counts include application calls and automated activity and cannot be converted directly into individual traders, even when they coincide with elevated DEX usage.
Tokenized Assets Add a Separate Trading Layer
Tokenized equities represent another growing source of activity, but they remain distinct from aggregate spot DEX volume. The Solana Foundation reported approximately $684 million in tokenized-equity supply and $4.4 billion in tokenized-stock trading during September. Supply measures the value outstanding, while volume measures turnover and should not be treated as capital entering the network.
Distribution has continued expanding, with 1.5 million Solana addresses holding tokenized equities by October 26. That metric also requires qualification because addresses do not equal individual investors, particularly when custodians, applications and incentive distributions can create multiple holdings. The stronger evidence of market development comes from combining supply, recurring trading activity and liquidity rather than relying on any single headline metric.
Solana’s 38% share for the week ending October 25 therefore represents relative leadership during a broad DEX slowdown, not an expansion of decentralized trading overall. Whether that share persists will depend on subsequent spot volume and liquidity across both Solana and competing chains as the late-October contraction develops.
