Ripple and C2FO are bringing the financing and settlement infrastructure behind C2FO Instant Pay onto the XRP Ledger, using RLUSD as the dollar-denominated settlement asset. According to the official Ripple announcement, the new model is designed to let suppliers receive approved early payments in seconds rather than waiting several days for traditional banking settlement. The initiative was announced October 27 at Ripple Swell 2026.
The arrangement does not change the underlying invoice terms. Businesses continue requesting early payment through C2FO, while participating capital providers finance the transaction and settlement occurs through XRPL using RLUSD. The blockchain layer changes how funded payments move, not when the original invoice legally becomes due. C2FO says its existing Early Pay programs have facilitated more than $250 billion in working capital, giving the integration an established commercial marketplace to build around.
RLUSD Moves Into Working-Capital Settlement
Traditional early-payment programs can release capital before an invoice reaches maturity, but the resulting bank transfer may still require additional time to clear. C2FO Instant Pay targets that final settlement delay by using XRPL’s three-to-five-second transaction finality and RLUSD as the payment asset. Ripple reported that more than $1 billion of RLUSD is already issued on XRPL, although existing stablecoin supply should not be interpreted as usage specifically attributable to C2FO.
The structure extends Ripple’s recent push into short-duration institutional financing. Its partnership with Arf similarly uses RLUSD for settlement credit supporting cross-border payment companies, with underwriting remaining outside the blockchain. Both models separate credit decisions from on-chain settlement, using XRPL to move value while regulated or specialized financial firms determine who receives financing.
Ripple has also been building infrastructure around tokenized financial assets through investments in ZILO and Licuido. Those businesses cover transfer agency, token issuance and collateral workflows, while C2FO introduces an approved-receivables use case. The common thread is an attempt to connect existing financial assets and obligations to blockchain settlement without replacing their underlying legal structures.
Instant Pay Remains an Early Deployment
The announcement should not yet be read as evidence of large-scale C2FO settlement volume on XRPL. Ripple and C2FO describe Instant Pay as a new solution, and businesses interested in using it are currently directed to a waitlist. The measurable adoption signal will be financing and settlement activity actually processed through the product, rather than the existence of the integration itself.
The model also differs from XRPL’s proposed native lending architecture. The network’s LendingProtocolV1_1 process is intended to support protocol-level lending primitives, but the broader lending stack is not yet fully active on mainnet. C2FO Instant Pay instead uses existing off-chain capital providers and commercial underwriting, with XRPL serving as the settlement rail.
Ripple has previously tested RLUSD for programmable trade settlement through its Singapore BLOOM sandbox initiative. C2FO moves that broader thesis toward an established working-capital marketplace, but implementation remains the key distinction. For now, the confirmed development is a new financing and settlement framework built around C2FO, RLUSD and XRPL, not proof that billions of dollars of C2FO receivables have already moved on-chain.
