U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded products returned to positive flows on October 13, ending a 10-session run of net redemptions that had persisted since September 29. The products recorded approximately $24.84 million in net inflows, their first positive session in more than two weeks. Bitcoin spot ETFs also rebounded, attracting about $175.6 million after losing $65.4 million during the previous trading day.
According to the DefiLlama ETF dashboard, Ethereum products held approximately $17.6 billion in assets after the session. Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust led the daily reversal with about $16.73 million in inflows, while Fidelity’s FETH added $8.11 million. No other tracked Ether product recorded a net creation or redemption large enough to change the aggregate result.
Ethereum Reverses a $783M Redemption Run
The positive session followed a difficult stretch for Ether funds. From September 29 through October 12, the category recorded 10 consecutive sessions of net outflows totaling approximately $782.8 million. The final five sessions alone accounted for roughly $576.9 million in withdrawals, the largest five-day redemption period since January. October 12 ended the sequence with another $85.4 million leaving the products.
The reversal should nevertheless remain separate from claims about institutional positioning. Fidelity describes FETH as a spot Ether product available through conventional investment accounts to both financial advisers and individual investors. ETF flow data measure net share creation and redemption activity, but they do not identify whether the underlying buyer is an institution, retail investor, adviser or another market participant.
The October turnaround follows repeated flow reversals across regulated crypto products. Bitcoin and Ether ETFs had previously returned to simultaneous outflows in September, while a July session saw Bitcoin funds lose $225.1 million as Ether products attracted $26.3 million. Daily flows have repeatedly diverged between the two assets rather than moving as a single crypto allocation trade.
Bitcoin Rebounds While Solana Remains Negative
Bitcoin products produced the larger October 13 move. Updated tracker data show Fidelity’s FBTC receiving approximately $103.1 million, BlackRock’s IBIT about $65.9 million and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT another $6.7 million. Those three products accounted for the entire $175.6 million net Bitcoin inflow recorded during the session. Cumulative U.S. spot Bitcoin ETF inflows stood near $57.2 billion afterward.
The figure illustrates why same-day ETF dashboards can differ temporarily. Farside initially displayed $109.8 million while IBIT’s October 13 data remained unavailable, whereas later datasets incorporated BlackRock’s approximately $65.9 million creation and lifted the aggregate toward $175.6 million. The discrepancy reflects reporting timing rather than two economically different Bitcoin ETF sessions.
Solana products moved in the opposite direction, posting approximately $1 million in net outflows on October 13. That extended their negative run to seven consecutive sessions and brought cumulative inflows since late September to about $60.8 million. The divergence shows that positive Bitcoin and Ether flows did not translate into uniform demand across crypto exchange-traded products.
Similar divergences have appeared before, including an August session when Bitcoin and Ether funds attracted capital while Solana products recorded withdrawals. For October 13, the clearest development is narrower: Ether finally interrupted a substantial redemption streak, Bitcoin recovered from a one-day outflow, and Solana remained under net redemption pressure. One positive Ethereum session establishes a flow reversal, but not yet a sustained change in investor demand.
