NEAR Intents Hits $10.4 Billion as Business Platform Launches

NEAR Protocol reported substantial growth across its cross-chain and confidential computing infrastructure in the third quarter of 2026, as NEAR Intents processed approximately $10.4 billion in quarterly transaction volume. The ecosystem subsequently expanded its enterprise offering with NEAR Business, a confidential treasury management platform supporting more than 35 blockchain networks.

According to quarterly figures shared by NEAR Protocol, Confidential Intents reached approximately $160 million in total value locked (TVL) by September 30, representing a reported 463% quarterly increase. The figures highlight growing activity across the protocol’s execution infrastructure, although assets held in confidential pools and transaction volume represent separate measures of utilization.

The report also highlighted NEAR’s artificial intelligence infrastructure, citing more than 139 billion inference tokens processed through OpenRouter during Q3 and over 750,000 NEAR tokens staked for confidential AI inference during its initial operating quarter. These metrics reflect different components of NEAR’s AI strategy and do not independently establish enterprise adoption or revenue generated by confidential inference services.

NEAR Business Introduces Confidential Cross-Chain Treasury Management

On October 20, NEAR officially introduced NEAR Business, a self-custodial multisignature treasury platform designed for companies, foundations and digital asset organizations. The service consolidates payments, asset swaps, reserve management and transaction approvals into a single interface supporting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and more than 35 networks.

Unlike conventional public blockchain treasury tools, NEAR Business uses Confidential Intents to restrict public visibility into transaction amounts, recipients and asset allocations. Organizations can still export accounting records, while governance roles and approvals remain verifiable onchain.

Treasury authorization operates through a multisignature contract on NEAR mainnet, supported by multiparty computation for transaction signing. The company states that it does not control the contract’s signing keys, while the underlying NEAR Intents infrastructure handles cross-chain execution.

The platform charges a 0.35% fee on swaps, offers Ledger hardware signing and covers gas costs for the first 1,000 monthly actions. Although launched, NEAR Business currently operates through an invitation-based onboarding process, with no publicly disclosed customer count or platform-specific transaction volume.

Confidential Liquidity Growth Meets Institutional Expansion

The launch follows broader growth in NEAR’s confidential execution infrastructure, which previously reached a $70 million TVL milestone during the expansion of its incentive program.

However, Confidential Intents liquidity cannot be attributed directly to NEAR Business adoption. The broader infrastructure already serves cross-chain trading activity and other applications, while the new treasury product targets organizational financial workflows.

The expansion also follows an October security incident affecting NEAR Intents, involving its Omni deposit and withdrawal infrastructure. The preliminary loss estimate was $3.8 million, underscoring the operational dependencies that accompany cross-chain execution.

Meanwhile, Bitwise launched its spot NEAR ETF, NRR, on September 29, broadening regulated investment access to the token. Reported inflows reached approximately $88.5 million through October 19, including $5.4 million that session, although ETF investment flows remain separate from actual network utilization.

NEAR’s quarterly performance therefore reflects measurable transaction activity and confidential liquidity growth, while its newly introduced treasury platform extends that infrastructure into enterprise financial operations without yet establishing commercial adoption at scale.
